THE BAUHAUS

The Bauhaus began in 1919 in Wiemar city by it's founder Walter Gropius, a German architect. It's objective was a far fetched concept; to reimagine the material world to reflect the unity of all the arts.Gropius explained that it was a union of art and design, which envisioned a utopian craft guild that combines architecture, painting, and sculpture into a single creative expression.Gropius came up with a craft-based curriculum that would make artists and designers create beautiful and useful objects appropriate to this new system of living. The Bauhaus connected elements of both fine arts and design education.
